Mary Burr Celebrates 80th Birthday with Shodan Test

On Saturday, January 12th, 2002, the day before her 80th birthday, Mary Burr tested for Shodan at Aikido of Monterey. With her children and grand-children in attendance, Mary gave an inspiring demonstration of Aikido technique and Aikido spirit. A former ballet and Broadway dancer, who started Aikido in 1995 at the age of 73, Mary's grace and agility still shows through. She has among the prettiest forward rolls of anyone in the dojo!
