Rochester Aikido is a member of the California Aikido Association, Division 2.  I started teaching here in spring of 2003.  Rochester Aikido is located in Rochester, Minnesota.

I began studying aikido in 1974 at L.A. Aikikai in the kid’s class with my father, Frank McGouirk.  In 1981, my father opened Aikido-Ai in Whittier, California.  I started my adult training that same year.

In 1986 I moved to Redwood City, California to train at Aikido West with Sensei Frank Doran.  In summer of 2003 I moved to Rochester, Minnesota.

My most Memorable Aikido Experience
My most memorable aikido experience happened in 1988, when I accompanied Doran Sensei on his first trip to Switzerland for 2 weeks of training. It was an honor.
