I lived next to Roland Spitzbarth's Aikido dojo and one day by accident I dropped in and started to train. The round movement and the efficient techniques attracted me. This was in 1986. For my development in Aikido, I thank Roland Spitzbarth. From that time on I joined many seminars with different teachers like Morihiro Saito Sensei, Frank Doran Sensei, Bob Nadeau Sensei, Hitohiro Saito Sensei and many others.
We founded the Aikido Bodensee Dojo at the beginning of 1998. There are around 18 adults and 20 kids which are training regularly. We offer 3 trainings for adults and 2 kid's classes per week. This year we will celebrate our 10th anniversary.
My most Memorable Aikido Experience
My most memorable Aikido experiences are my stays as uchideshi in Iwama under Morihiro Saito Sensei's supervision in 1989 and 1993. On my world tour in 1995 I visited different dojos with different styles of Aikido. The openness and friendliness in the dojos in the different countries impressed me. I could see there is an Aikido family around the world.
