Kenichi K. Suzuki Sensei started his Aikido training in the Spring (March) of 1959. Among his first teachers at Hombu Dojo were Kisshomaru Ueshiba Sensei, Koichi Tohei Sensei, and Mitsugi Saotome Sensei. Later at Otsuka Dojo and Gakushuin University he studied with Nishio Sensei and Kobayashi Sensei, and for 3 1/2 years with Tada Sensei. In the 1970s he trained with Ohsawa Sensei at Hombu Dojo.
Suzuki Sensei founded the Aikido Association of Salinas in June of 1997. At present its members count approximately 20 adults and 10 children. Classes are held three times a week in the gymnasium of the Salinas Buddhist Temple.
Suzuki Sensei considers his observing O Sensei's Aikido demonstration in Tokyo during the early 1960s as his most memorable Aikido experience.
